Vestas Technology & Operations is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within Research & Development (R&D), you’ll find our department, Sustainability Analytics as part of Innovation & Concepts.

Together, we will ensure the delivery of the most sustainable products throughout their lifecycle. From setting aspirational targets to conducting detailed analyses and identifying innovative solutions, you will support our journey toward carbon-neutral and zero-waste turbines.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in sustainability and life cycle assessments, preferably within similar industries
  • A comprehensive understanding of sustainability and environmental issues, with the ability to address them holistically
  • Knowledge of Eco Design and Circular Design, including their practical applications
  • Project management skills with familiarity with the stage-gate product development process
  • Familiarity with wind turbine products, materials, and the value chain is beneficialFluency in English, both written and verbal

Responsibilities:

As Sustainability Specialist, you are the main point of contact for the module and product ownership teams, enabling them to reach their sustainability targets. In this role, you will have the opportunity to define, implement, and facilitate sustainability initiatives across the entire turbine value chain.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee and evaluate module sustainability targets to ensure alignment with strategic goals
  • Champion and prioritize key sustainability initiatives within the modules and product teams
  • Work closely with module ownership teams, including procurement, design, and service, to embed sustainability practices
  • Facilitate the adoption of Eco Design and Circular Design principles in Vestas’ product execution processes
  • Deliver specialized training on Eco Design and Circular Design to enhance the skills of module teams
  • Provide guidance for environmental assessments within modules and internal teamsHead the creation and refinement of tools to monitor sustainability performance and promote continuous improvement
