Are you an experienced portfolio manager with experience and passion for Sustainability and driven to deliver sustainable impact in the coatings’ industry?
Sustainability is one of the key pillars in our Double Impact strategy. In Hempel, we strive to become Sustainability Leaders in our industry and strive to reduce environmental impact across our full value chain, from our suppliers to our customers. We are currently looking for an experienced transformation manager to continue the journey with us.
Can you help us shape a long-term vision for success and positive impact?
The Sustainability Transformation Manager is responsible for portfolio management of Hempel’s sustainability projects. The role is based in Lyngby, Denmark or Barcelona, Spain. Hempel’s sustainability project portfolio includes strategic impact projects, business segment projects and initiatives, product sustainability and ESG projects. The Sustainability Transformation Manager is responsible for driving the execution of the portfolio of sustainability projects. The role is a matrix leadership role, reporting directly to VP Sustainability and consists of daily portfolio management of sustainability project managers and stakeholder management and collaboration with key partners throughout the organization.

What does your day-to-day look like?

  • Portfolio management of sustainability projects
  • Managing the project management of projects and guiding project managers
  • Tracking and monitoring progress and reporting to key stakeholders through reports and presentations
  • Communication to key stakeholders
  • Participation or leading relevant project steering committee meetings and ensuring follow ups with project manager and stakeholders
  • Lead selected projects
  • Drive continuous improvement of project management processes, development and execution

What do you need to be successful in this role?

As Sustainability Transformation Manager, you will be part of the corporate Sustainability team, focusing on ensuring the delivery of sustainability projects and initiatives within the sustainability strategy. We expect that you have,

  • Solid experience in portfolio and project management
  • Proven track record to manage and guide project managers
  • Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders across different functions and hierarchies
  • Have excellent communication skills orally, written and through presentations
  • Efficiently manage and coordinate many tasks at the same time
  • Excellent business and commercial acumen and have a rapid ability to understand business landscapes
  • Solid understanding of sustainability themes, initiatives, projects and programs
  • Are adept at understanding and guiding sustainability practitioners who manage sustainability projects and initiatives
