Description
Overview Under the direct supervision of the Director or designee, performs a variety of experienced office/business support to the City of Boston’s procurement team. Responsibilities Maintain the procurement and maintenance of drinking water for all City of Boston employees. Maintain and update a database that includes updates to delivery locations, department contacts, inventory needs for departments, and other general needs. Process change requests while coordinating with suppliers and requesting departments. Confirm deliveries and inventory for all locations. Review and process monthly invoices as well as department chargebacks. Act as a liaison between the Environment department and city departments, requesting environmentally sustainable goods and services. Support the City of Boston’s surplus property policy. Performs other various related duties as required by the supervisor. Minimum Entrance Qualifications High school diploma or general equivalency diploma is required OR college degree, specialized training, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of three (3) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in clerical or office work, or related field. An associate's degree may count for up to one (1) year of required experience, and a bachelor’s degree may count for up to two (2) years of required experience. Knowledge of professional office practices, procedures, and techniques, including the use of a PC and the use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products. Considerable knowledge of municipal contract and proposal procedures; ability to understand and carry out moderately complex directions. Considerable knowledge of filing systems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with vendors and requisitioning departments. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Valid Massachusetts driver's license to visit various City locations on a weekly basis. Project Coordinator experience. Considerable knowledge of the Massachusetts State Environmentally Preferred Products. BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED Terms: Union/Salary Plan/Grade: SEIU/RL-16 Hours per week: 35
