VPT, Inc., a global leader in providing power conversion solutions for use in avionics, military, space and industrial applications, has an immediate opening for a full-time Sustaining Process Engineer at our Blacksburg, VA headquarters reporting to our Chief Operating Officer. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Solve process and material related problems to increase quality, yield, and throughput * Improve or introduce new processes and materials for existing products * Design and manage experiments (DOEs) to validate improvements * Create and edit procedures and other production documentation * Travel (international and domestic) to production facilities to evaluate process and materials Because of the nature of this position a US person is required VPT offers an excellent benefits package immediately upon full-time hire including health and dental insurance, 401k, disability insurance, life insurance, flexible spending accounts and paid time off. Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering or Industrial Engineering * Previous experience as a Sustaining Process Engineer or equivalent * Background in electronics assembly processes * Understanding of materials used in electronics manufacturing and their interactions with one another (solders, epoxies, platings, etc.) * Understanding of thick-film hybrid technology

Responsibilities

The Sustaining Process Engineer will solve process and material-related problems to enhance quality, yield, and throughput. They will also improve or introduce new processes and materials for existing products and manage experiments to validate improvements.
