Description
Overview A luxury hospitality property in Northern Michigan is seeking a temporary full-time chef to support an exclusive soft-launch phase. Set within a scenic, nature-forward environment, this is a unique opportunity for a chef who enjoys working in a refined setting with fluctuating guest flow and evolving operational needs. During this phase, the property will host exclusive, pre-invited guests as part of a private trial period designed to refine the overall guest experience ahead of a broader launch. The role is expected to run from June through December and includes private housing accommodations and use of a work vehicle. This is a dynamic assignment where occupancy and service demands may vary significantly. Some periods may be quiet with minimal guest presence, while other stretches may involve several consecutive weeks of elevated activity and frequent guest turnover. The client is seeking a chef who is adaptable, polished, organized, and comfortable operating independently within a high-end hospitality environment. Candidates with prior experience supporting a resort opening, soft launch, luxury retreat, or boutique hospitality concept are strongly encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate may also bring operational insight and creative collaboration as the property evolves into its next phase. Additional details regarding culinary style, scheduling flow, and long-term operational structure will be shared with candidates as they progress through the interview process. Responsibilities Prepare elevated daily meals for guests staying at a luxury hospitality property. Maintain high standards of presentation, organization, cleanliness, and hospitality. Adapt meal service and kitchen work-flow based on changing occupancy levels and guest schedules. Manage kitchen organization, inventory, ingredient sourcing, and grocery procurement. Operate independently while maintaining a calm, polished guest experience. Collaborate with ownership and on-site teams to support a seamless hospitality environment. Qualifications Prior experience as a private chef, resort chef, or within luxury hospitality environments. Comfortable operating independently in a high-end setting. Adaptable, resourceful, and highly organized. Professional, discreet, and hospitality-minded. Experience supporting a resort opening, soft launch, or hospitality startup phase is strongly preferred. Comfortable working in an environment with changing occupancy levels and evolving operational needs. Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset. Requirements Legally authorized to work in the United States. Able to relocate/live on-site for the duration of the assignment. Valid driver’s license. Able to provide strong references and pass a background check. Salary and Benefits Compensation range: $10,000–$12,000 per month, depending on experience. Private housing accommodations provided. Work vehicle provided. Additional benefits to be discussed.
