Description

Project Context and Scope The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Guinea supports the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene through the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) to strengthen the delivery of vaccination services for mobile and hard‑to‑reach populations. Initially implemented from July 2023 to June 2024 with Gavi CDS3 funding, the project was extended until December 2024, and subsequently expanded from May 2025 to May 2026 to ensure continuity of activities and to integrate enhanced technical and operational support. This extension phase aims to support EPI efforts in 12 priority points of entry and 10 high‑mobility areas located in the border health districts of Lola, Yomou, Forécariah, Mandiana, Macenta, Siguiri, N’Zérékoré, and Koundara. These areas were selected due to their strategic importance for vaccinating mobile populations, based on criteria related to mobility intensity, the presence of priority points of entry, and cross‑border dynamics. The project complements national efforts to integrate COVID‑19 vaccination into routine EPI services and contributes to improving immunization coverage in areas characterized by a high risk of disease transmission and limited access to health services. Interventions primarily target migrants, international travelers, frontline workers, host communities, as well as zero‑dose and under‑vaccinated children. By strengthening coordination and the delivery of vaccination services at points of entry and in high‑mobility areas, the project contributes to reducing inequities in access to immunization and supports national public health objectives, particularly in terms of equity, prevention of vaccine‑preventable diseases, and strengthening health system resilience. Responsibilities

The Project Assistant will support the delivery of vaccination services for mobile and hard-to-reach populations. This includes strengthening coordination and operational support at priority points of entry and high-mobility areas.
