Description The SVP-Commercial Loan Officer will source and manage relationships including construction, permanent real estate, and commercial and industrial opportunities. Will serve as a primary point of contact for complex commercial lending activities. This role focuses on driving lending growth by developing new business opportunities and structuring loans for various property types, construction projects, letters of credit, C&I, and house referrals. It requires strong analytical expertise to evaluate creditworthiness and ensure sound underwriting decisions aligned with organizational policies. The position oversees the full lifecycle of lending activities, from prospecting and underwriting through closing and ongoing project monitoring. Additionally, the role contributes to strategic initiatives by identifying market opportunities and supporting policy development and sales efforts. Ensures compliance within all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Generates and screens leads following established policies and procedures to attain new business relationships and product sales. Analyzes and underwrites various property types, and large-development construction projects and validates assumptions. Identifies and analyzes potential loan markets to develop prospects for commercial loans. Interviews applicant and requests specified information for loan application. Requests for applicant credit reports, background checks, reference checks, and other information pertinent to loan applicant's evaluation. Analyzes applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan or submits application to credit analyst for verification and recommendation. Corresponds with or interviews applicants or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information. Compiles loan package and facilitate negotiation of loan structure with applicant, including fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms. Ensure loan documentation is complete and accurate according to policy and loan approval. Assures timely loan closing and funding activities. Monitors progress of previously approved construction projects and notify Executive Management of developing trends. Advises Chief Lending Officer of external factors that may affect establishment of lending policies, such as new or revised legislation and regulations. Recommends and implements appropriate changes to established policies and procedures. Provides loan data to support marketing and sales promotion programs. Minimum of 10 hours CRA volunteer hours per year. Volunteer hours are typically scheduled within business hours. This is compensable time and mileage is reimbursed. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility: None. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred. Minimum 7 to 10 years Commercial Real Estate & Construction lending experience required. Proficient in the following software applications: MS Word, Excel, Outlook . Excellent written and verbal communication. Physical Demands/Work Environment The incumbent in the course of performing this position frequently spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, operating basic business equipment, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, walking, standing, reading documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, client contact, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, multiple concurrent tasks, and frequent interruptions. The incumbent for this position will occasionally lift up to 15 pounds, pull, squat, kneel and reach. The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which they are free to move about at will. The work environment is typically quiet to a moderate noise level. Employee may frequently travel to visit clients and property sites. There may be occasional out-of-area and overnight travel.
