Position Overview  As the Senior Vice President, Sales – Mid-Market (East or West), you will lead and grow Direct Travel’s mid-market business, overseeing a high-performing team of Business Development Directors (Individual Contributors). You will play a pivotal role in accelerating Direct Travel’s next stage of growth by driving net-new client acquisition, deepening market penetration, and delivering on revenue goals for companies under a specific annual revenue threshold.  This position requires a visionary sales leader with a deep understanding of Travel Management Company (TMC) operations and ideally experience within a technology-focused travel company (Travel-as-a-Service) environment. You’ll combine strategic leadership with hands-on selling, coaching, and developing a high-performing team while actively engaging with prospects to close enterprise-level deals.   This is a fully remote position with up to 25% travel.    Expedition Expectations  * Lead, coach, and develop a team of 6–7 Business Development Directors to consistently exceed sales targets across your regional mid-market segment (East or West).  * Develop and execute a regional go-to-market strategy that aligns with Direct Travel’s national growth goals and brand differentiation.  * Drive accountability through effective pipeline management, forecast accuracy, and data-driven performance tracking.  * Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Value Engineering, Implementation, Enablement and Account Management to ensure seamless client experiences and sustainable growth.  * Represent Direct Travel and the Avenir platform at conferences, client meetings, and industry events, articulating the unique value of transparent pricing, unmatched content visibility (including NDC), and the power of Avenir (our revolutionary booking platform)  * Partner closely with internal leadership to identify market trends, competitive threats, and opportunities for expansion.  * Foster a culture of collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement across your team.     Passport to Success  * Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred). Equivalent leadership experience will be considered.  * 15+ years of experience in B2B sales, including at least 5+ years in frontline sales leadership managing quota-carrying teams.  * Proven success leading complex, consultative sales cycles within the travel technology or TMC space.  * Experience selling SaaS or Travel-as-a-Service solutions strongly preferred.  * Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, and scale high-performing sales teams.  * Strong business acumen and executive presence, with experience selling to C-level audiences.  * Data-driven mindset with proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce preferred).  * Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.    Embark on the next step in your career journey with Direct Travel!  As one of the fastest-growing Travel Management Companies (TMCs) in the world, Direct Travel is reimagining what’s possible in business travel through innovation, personalization, and technology.
