JOB SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the EVP, Chief Delivery System Operations Officer and a dotted line to the EVP, Chief Financial Officer, the SVP Supply Chain Services is responsible for building, maintaining, and continuously improving the supply chain functions of Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH) in service of our customer centric strategy. These functions may include strategic sourcing, procurement, logistics, operations and inventory management, vendor management, bio-medical services, and supply chain technology. Develops and implements system-wide supply chain strategy, policies, procedures, and practices that meet service and quality standards, manage total costs appropriately, and are aligned with BSWH business objectives. Directs and coordinates the distribution of procured supplies and equipment throughout the organizational areas of responsibility. Monitors the flow of equipment, supplies, and materials through the BSWH supply chain and directs regular studies on service efficiency, key performance metrics, cost management, and benchmarks for supply chain planning and forecasting. Collaborates with leadership in clinical service lines, delivery system operations, finance, and other departments to drive improvement in supply chain management processes across BSWH system. Effectively leads the teams within supply chain and manages relationships with suppliers to optimize efficiency, reduce cost, and provide best in class patient care. Ensures compliance with all safety, legal, and regulatory requirements impacting BSWH supply chain programs, processes, and operations.
A system Senior Vice President (SVP) sets policy and objectives within a major system business unit, regional entity, or system-level staff function for BSWH. Acts as business or functional expert requiring accomplished knowledge in many aspects of the work area, industry, and environment. Participates in broader strategy development with senior leadership. Has accountability for successful implementation of strategy. Decisions involve differing situations over a multi-year time horizon of at least three to five years. Typically interacts with system “Chief” leadership level or entity President. Oversees multiple levels of subordinate vice presidents, directors, and/or managers covering varied disciplines and skill levels. Has primary accountability for financial management, talent management, and input on major resource decisions. Translates and cascades corporate strategies and objectives to subordinate positions. Leads and monitors business performance.
