  CHAMINADE UNIVERSITY OF HONOLULU STUDENT WORKER JOB DESCRIPTION     I. Position Information Title: Student Assistant Division/Department: School of Business and Communications Non-Exempt, Part-time Hours: up to 19 hours per week  Location: On-Campus   II. Position Summary The Research Assistant will support a community-based food security project through data collection, data management, and data analysis activities. This position provides hands-on experience in mixed-methods research, collaboration with community partners, and the development of applied research skills.  This position supports: * Chaminade University’s Strategic Plan 2024–2030 Kuleana 1: Academic Excellence,   Kuleana 2: Belonging and Well-Being, and Kuleana 5: Community Partnership and Impact. * UNSDG #2 Zero Hunger, #3 Good Health and Well-Being, and #4 Quality Education.     III. Reports to: Direct Report to: Associate Professor of Economics and Director of EECE   IV. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Serving the Chaminade University community and local community by promoting financial literacy education with measurable community impact. * Fostering and maintaining positive relationships with partner schools, including providing logistical support and handling administrative tasks. * Gathering metrics and maintaining comprehensive records of all community-engaged learning activities. * Assisting in the planning and execution of a culminating event, including an on-site or on-campus event, in collaboration with community partners. * Supporting program evaluation activities. * Contributing to the effective operation and continued growth of EECE.   V. Education and Experience Minimum * Must be enrolled as a full-time student at Chaminade University of Honolulu * Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0   VII. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities  * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. * Dedication to community-engaged learning and enthusiasm for community service. * Experience engaging with the community and K–12 students. * Commitment to personal and professional development. * Accountability and a willingness to incorporate constructive feedback. * Ability to collaborate effectively with peers and community professionals.     VIII. Physical Requirements Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.   IX. Other Requirements:  * This is a Part-time Non-Exempt Student Worker position. The expected work hours are 6-10 per week. Depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required.  Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and a varying schedule. * Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be assigned or required * Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University.
