Your team You will lead a distributed platform software team focused on: Deliver Zephyr enablement for NXP MCU/MPU families (Cortex‑M cores) Cooperate on MCUXpresso SDK driver and middleware development Cross‑domain collaboration with HW teams, security, connectivity, applications, and customer engineering Continuous integration and quality systems supporting internal builds and public releases 🔍Your responsibilities Lead & develop people: Lead, hire, mentor, and grow a high‑performing engineering team with a culture of ownership and continuous improvement Own the roadmap: Define and execute NXP’s Zephyr and platform SW strategy, aligning upstream priorities with product roadmaps and customer needs Deliver at scale: Plan and ship MCUXpresso SDK and Zephyr‑based releases for NXP MCU/MPU portfolios, with clear release criteria, metrics, and quality gates Represent NXP externally: Participate in Zephyr working groups and community forums; advocate upstream‑first practices and high‑quality, reviewable contributions Build great platforms: Drive drivers, subsystems, and middleware integrations (e.g., Zephyr BSPs, I²C/SPI/UART, networking, storage, power management etc.) Raise the bar on quality & security: Enforce coding standards, CI/CD, test coverage, SBOM/CVE handling, and long‑term maintenance of released branches Partner broadly: Collaborate with silicon/NPI teams for bring‑up, with product/apps teams for requirements, and with customer engineering for escalations and field feedback Manage execution: Own capacity planning, and cross‑program dependencies; communicate status and risks to stakeholders 🧩Your profile Leadership: Proven experience leading software team or complex technical initiatives; ability to set direction, influence across organizations, and deliver results Software expertise: Background in low level SW development (Zephyr preferred) and/or SDK/Linux distributions; knowledge of C, git, code review workflows; familiarity with CMake/Kconfig/Devicetree Open‑source mindset: Track record of upstream collaboration, technical writing, and constructive community engagement Communication: Excellent written and verbal English; comfortable presenting technical topics to both engineering and leadership audiences Education: BSc/MSc in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience 🎯 What Can You Expect? 📝 Contract Type This role is offered as a full‑time position with a permanent contract, providing long‑term stability and room for growth. 📚 Development Opportunities We believe that growing our people is key to growing our business.
