CHAMINADE UNIVERSITY OF HONOLULU   POSITION INFORMATION Title: Senior Orientation Leader Division: Enrollment Management  Department: Office of Admissions Part Time, Non-Exempt POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Orientation Leader’s role supports the successful planning and implementation of New Student Orientation (NSO) programs at Chaminade University. Primarily working alongside the event lead to coordinate logistics, prepare materials, and ensure program readiness. This role serves as a mentor to Orientation Leaders, assists with event coordination, and helps create a welcoming, engaging, and mission-driven transition experience for incoming students and families. LEARNING OUTCOMES 1. Leadership & Communication: Demonstrate enhanced leadership and communication skills through facilitation, mentoring peers, and engaging with new students and families. 2. Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Apply problem solving and critical thinking skills in fast-paced, evolving program environments. 3. Institutional Knowledge & Representation: Showcase a vast knowledge of Chaminade University of Honolulu’s student resources, values and traditions, and effectively communicating them with new students 4. Professional Skill Development: Develop professional competencies include event planning, customer service, teamwork, and conflict resolution REPORTS TO: Direct Report to: Senior Admissions Counselor Indirect Report to: Assistant Vice President of Enrollment   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Senior Orientation Leader will: * * Work closely with the Event Lead to prepare planning documents, schedules, supplies, and logistics. * Assist in coordinating and executing activities and events during New Student Orientation. * Lead training sessions and serve as a mentor and support resource for Orientation Leaders, providing guidance and modeling professional conduct. * Support communication efforts with students and families by providing accurate information and positive customer service. * Serve as a peer leader, offering guidance, coaching, and peer support to Orientation Leadership. * Assist in hiring processes for new Orientation Leaders, which may include application review, interviewing, and candidate evaluations. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  MINIMUM * * Must have at least one year of experience as an Orientation Leader (or have similar campus leadership experience). * Current and full-time day undergraduate student with Chaminade University of Honolulu. * Completed a minimum of 12 Chaminade University of Honolulu credit at the time of application   PREFERRED * Student should maintain a current GPA of at least 2.50 REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES * * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software * Organized with meticulous attention to detail * Ability to prioritize work and resources * Ability to meet deadlines * Attention to detail with a focus on thoroughness and quality * High integrity and ethical standards PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: * This is a Part-time Non-Exempt Student Worker position. Depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and a varying schedule. * Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be assigned or required * Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University.
