The Swamper position serves as a general laborer used to support a wide variety of tasks in our day-to-day operations. Job duties will vary considerably from day to day as this is a very diverse position. The compensation for this position will vary depending on the project, location, and experience of the individual and will be evaluated by the hiring supervisor at time of hire. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS This role will be responsible for but not limited to the following: · Work safely in potentially hazardous environments · Operate high pressure power washing equipment. · Lift/Carry heavy objects up to 50# · Basic oil and gas labor operations · Basic environmental reclamation operations · Basic Hydro-Excavation operations · Proficiently use hand and power tools · General construction and excavation skills · Ability to work in all weather conditions. · Ability to effectively communicate. · Adaptability to work under various changing project conditions and scopes. · Laborer 2 – includes the above responsibilities as well as the below skills/traits. o Ability to read and interpret plan sets with accuracy. o Ability to interpret construction utility locate layouts. o Ability to operate advanced tools. o ability to operate the following equipment. § forklift § compaction equipment § skid steer. o driven to lead project safety tasks, o attention to detail and workmanship. o Exemplifies professional engagement with customers and peers. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY This position is not a supervisory role but will remain accountable to help ensure all co-workers are working in a manner that is conducive to the safety of everyone around. This position will report directly to their respective supervisor. WORKING CONDITIONS This position will be faced with varying working conditions. Inclement and/or extreme weather may be a factor as well as other unforeseen conditions. The potential for long hours and varying shifts may also exist. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS · Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. · Must be able to come to work promptly, regularly, and on-time. · Able to follow instruction and carry out duties while unsupervised. · Work proficiently with tools and equipment · Willing to work well with others and maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic. · Capable of openly communicating ideas and problems · Must have a valid driver’s license. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS · Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at frequent intervals, 100 pounds at regular intervals, and heavier weights in team situations with proper technique to prevent injury. · Must be able to quickly and safely move across a work site, typically loose ground or uneven terrain. · Must be able to stand, bend, crawl, stretch, lay, squat in order to maintain equipment or make appropriate adjustments for tasks in the field. · Possess the manual dexterity to perform detail work at regular intervals. · Possess the visual acuity to complete detailed tasks at regular intervals.
