The Position: British Swim School of Buffalo is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team of Swim Instructors at our new Amherst location! A Swim Instructor at British Swim School teaches swim lessons to children and young adults employing our fun, gentle, and progressive methods with a focus placed on water safety and survival skills. You will receive extensive training to build your confidence and ability to work with swimmers of various ages and skill levels. Having fun and engaging with our swimmers is one of the most important aspects of the job! Roles and Responsibilities: Instruct swimmers of all ages and abilities using the British Swim School curriculum and teaching methods in a safe and encouraging environment. Provide parents and guardians with constructive feedback on their child's progress. Availability to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed. Perform duties in an environment where noise levels are typically moderate to high, ambient temperature is warm, and humidity is high. Stand in water for up to three to four consecutive hours. Minimum Qualifications: Have a high school diploma, equivalent certification, or be currently pursuing one. Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal communication and organizational capabilities. Must have a positive attitude. Must be reliable, trustworthy, and punctual. Must be comfortable in and around water. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with children. Possess 1-2 years of swimming experience and demonstrate proficiency in the freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. A minimum of one year of customer service experience is preferred. Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) are preferred. About Us: At British Swim School, we are more than just a fun, surface-level swim lesson provider.
