Job Details Job Location: Manchester, TN 37355 Position Type: Part-Time Summary Instruct group and/or private swim lessons with positive energy and a passion for teaching while following all lesson plans and guides. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Instruct group and/or private swim lessons as assigned by the Aquatics M ana ger. Input data to monitor and record participant's attendance, progression, and areas of improvement. Interact with participants as well as guardians and guests. Follow swim lesson guidelines and plans to ensure that every instructor is teaching the same curriculum in the same way. Set up and clean up materials used for sessions before or after the sessions to maintain the tidiness of the aquatic areas. Instruct up to ten participants per class. {Classes over five will have another instructor/lifeguard in the water) Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or experience At least one year of lifeguarding experience preferred At least one year of experience teaching in a group swim lesson environment as a lead instructor preferred GED or equivalent degree. Language Skills Must have excellent communication skills to instruct and direct clearly all participants and guests. Written skills must include the ability to write and read. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Current CPR for Professional Rescuer and AED. Lifeguard Certification through the American Red Cross. Water Safety Instructor through the American Red Cross. Maintain a healthy physical condition to allow for lifeguarding functions and teaching swim lessons. Must be able to tolerate a pool sanitized by chlorine for extended periods of time.
