Job Details Job Location: RIVERPLEX RECREATION & WELLNESS CENTER - PEORIA, IL 61603 Position Type: Part Time Salary Range: $18.00 - $21.00 Hourly Duties: Under the supervision of the Aquatics Manager, the Swim Instructor is responsible for: Provide group or private swim lessons. Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed and support all aspects of the Peoria Park District’s safety program. Perform all other duties as assigned. Essential Functions: To perform all essential lifesaving and CPR skills in the event of an emergency, including the ability to remove a person from the water. Qualifications Experience: Previous experience teaching swim lessons is preferred but not required. Training will be provided. Certifications: Desired WSI certification or equivalent. Knowledge and Ability: Ability to work flexible hours. Considerable ability as a swimmer plus. Knowledge of principles and practices of pool rules, policies, and procedures. Ability to work harmoniously with the public and fellow employees in an enthusiastic and cooperative manner. Ability to effectively communicate in both speaking and writing. Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, safe, and equitable to both internal and external customers.
