About the role The Operations Lead plays a key leadership role within the Swim Sport & Leisure Department, providing operational oversight and strategic direction across a diverse portfolio of aquatic, leisure and recreation facilities. The role is responsible for driving consistent, customer-focused service delivery while ensuring facilities operate efficiently, safely and in line with Council strategies, policies and legislative requirements. This position leads operational performance across facilities and works collaboratively with internal teams, community stakeholders and industry partners to deliver innovative programs, improve participation and strengthen community wellbeing outcomes. The role also focuses on building leadership capability within facility teams, driving continuous improvement and supporting a high-performing, inclusive and accountable workplace culture. Key responsibilities include: * Lead the day-to-day operational performance of Swim Sport & Leisure facilities to deliver safe, compliant and customer-focused services. * Drive continuous improvement, innovation and program development to increase participation and meet community needs. * Provide strong leadership, coaching and support to facility management teams to build capability, engagement and accountability. * Manage operational, financial and program performance across facilities, ensuring targets, budgets and service standards are achieved. * Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, community groups, suppliers and industry partners. * Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Council policies, procedures and risk management requirements. About you To be successful in this role, you are an experienced and motivated leader with a strong background in leisure, recreation, sport or facility operations. You bring demonstrated experience leading diverse teams, managing complex operations and delivering customer-focused services in a fast-paced environment. You are highly organised, commercially minded and able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership. You have strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, allowing you to build positive working relationships across teams, community groups and industry partners.
