QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

· SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming or equivalent
· Safeguarding certification
· RLSS (Royal Life Saving Society) National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches desirable

WORK EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

· Good time management and organisational skills
· Previous swim teacher work experience
· Passionate about sports / leisure and the customer experience.
· Excellent communication skills
· Enthusiastic
· Self-motivated to upskill and professionally develop.
· A team player with lots of energy.
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Permanent
Pay: From £22.25 per hour

Responsibilities

To improve pupils’ confidence, skill level and stroke technique in a structured and fun environment
The principles and values of the learn-to-swim programme are supported with the delivery of teaching to the company standards by using schemes of work and session plans for all lessons.
To set-up and prepare for all lessons including equipment, assessment materials, lesson plans.
Work alongside the Aquatics Manager, other swimming teachers, operations team to help ensure that pupils can learn to swim in a safe environment.
To agree to abide by a code of conduct and carry out duties in ac cordance with Achieve Lifestyle, including safeguarding, equal opportunities, health and safety.
To use appropriate teaching practices and points to achieve the lesson plan’s aim.
Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance and skills required to achieve the next Swim England stage.
To effectively record the attendances of swimmers by managing and completing registers.
Use of technology provided to keep records of the progress by ongoing assessment of each pupil.
To attend regular meetings with the Aquatics Manager.
To stay up to date with best practice by attending Staff Training/continuous professional development.
