Description Job Title: Swim Team Assistant Coach Department: Recreation Classification: Seasonal Target hourly hiring rate: $15.50 IMRF Position: No Directly Reports To: Recreation Manager – Aquatics and Fitness DESCRIPTION The Stingray Bay Swim Team Assistant Coach is a part time position located at Stingray Bay. The Swim Team Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Swim Team Coach to support the development and success of the swim team. This position involves assisting with coaching sessions, organizing team activities, and fostering a positive and inclusive team culture. The Swim Team Assistant Coach reports to the Recreation Manager – Aquatics and Fitness. Requirements JOB QUALIFICATIONS Must be at least 16. Previous experience as a swim coach or competitive swimmer is preferred. Knowledge of swim strokes and techniques. Must be able to work with staff and customers in a competitive environment. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work well with children. Current CPR and first aid certification or able to attain certification prior to opening day of Stingray Bay. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with the Head Swim Team Coach to plan and execute effective training sessions for swimmers of various skill levels. Provide hands-on coaching support during practices, focusing on technique, endurance, and skill development. Offer constructive feedback to swimmers to aid in their improvement. Assist in coordinating and preparing the team for swim meets and competitions. Provide support during competitions including warm-ups, strategy discussions, and post-race analysis. Maintain clear and effective communication with swimmers, parents, and the coaching staff. Assist in the management and organization of team equipment, including swim gear, uniforms, and training aids. Set up and tear down before/after practices and swim meets. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS Proper use and storage of equipment and supplies. Cleaning of equipment / supplies used Familiar with computer programs necessary to operate efficiently ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS Employee may be exposed to chemicals (cleaning materials). Employee is exposed to indoor and outdoor conditions. ESSENTIAL MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing this job, the employee is required to speak and listen, stand, walk, use hands, sit, stoop or kneel, bend and lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision requirements include distance, color vision, peripheral and depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employees are allowed and encouraged to use mechanical or manual assists for lifting above 20 lbs. as a guideline. Employee must be able to follow directions with safe follow through and exercise good judgment and safety awareness. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.
