Description Houston Country Club is seeking a Positive, Energetic, Outgoing, Passionate, Helpful, and Fun Loving Attitude Assistant Swim Team Coaches and Swim Instructors to coach/teach children and adults of various abilities how to swim. The HCC pool is operational year round and we are looking to continue to grow our program. Instructors need to have a current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification along with an extensive teaching history. Duties and Responsibilities Conduct swim team workouts and provide instruction to members; enhance the swimming skills and development of all members; ensure member adherence to and understanding of safe training, competitive and swimming practices. Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and manage swim lessons and assist with swim team practices. Assist with all aspects of swim meets including scheduling individual race participants, recording and posting start times and working with swim chairs to distribute race ribbons. Ensure the safety of swim team members, performing lifesaving and/or first aid procedures when necessary. Enforce team rules and policies as well as pool rules and regulations. Respond to swimmer accidents and emergencies and administer first aid and CPR as necessary. Assist and support all team-related activities. Build meaningful relationships with assistant swim coaches, Pool Committee, parents, and swimmers. Give swimmers knowledge to understand and master strokes and provide corrective feedback that will enhance swimmers’ techniques. Engage parents and cultivate relationships to create a collaborative swim team environment. Conduct self in a professional, friendly, helpful, courteous, and diplomatic manner. Assist with running and setting up swim meets. Perform various clerical duties in support of the swim team and swim lessons such as responding to parents’ and swimmers’ questions and memos, creating workouts, taking attendance and submitting meet entries, and billing Work in tandem with the Youth Activities Director to complete billing in an orderly fashion. Maintain routine records related to swimming accidents, incidents and assigned activities. Maintain swimming area in a safe, clean and orderly condition. Perform related duties as assigned by the Clubhouse Manager and Youth Activities Director. Requirements Job Type: Seasonal 60% for all private swim lessons and a flat fee for all group programs per class Schedule: Assistant Swim Team Coach: April and May: Tuesday – Friday: Afternoons from 3:30pm-7pm | June: Tuesday – Friday: Morning and Evenings in June and a few events on certain weekend 4 years of teaching swimming lessons experience Swim Instructor: Flexible Schedule Monday – Sunday Organized, responsible, friendly
