Position: Swim Team Instructor (Must be 17 years old) Location: Dominion Country Club Job Overview: Dominion Country Club is looking for a dedicated and energetic Swim Team Instructor to join our team this summer. This part-time position involves coaching our junior swim team, promoting skill development, and fostering a positive team environment. Key Responsibilities: Coaching: - Lead swim practices for team members aged 6-16, focusing on stroke technique, endurance, and competitive skills. - Develop and implement training plans tailored to various skill levels, from novice to competitive swimmers. Team Development: - Foster a spirit of teamwork, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among team members. - Organize and oversee swimming meets, ensuring all participants are prepared and supported. Safety and Instruction: - Ensure swimmer safety during practices and events by adhering to safety protocols. - Provide individual feedback and encouragement to swimmers, helping them to improve their techniques and performance. Communication: - Maintain open lines of communication with swimmers, parents, and club management regarding progress, expectations, and events. - Organize team meetings and communicate schedules effectively. Qualifications: - Previous experience in swim coaching or teaching swim lessons. - Strong knowledge of competitive swimming techniques and rules. - Lifeguard certification and CPR/First Aid certification - Excellent communication skills and a passion for working with children and adolescents. - Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Work Environment: - This position will primarily take place at the Dominion Country Club pool, requiring physical activity and engagement with team members. - A positive, collaborative atmosphere where enthusiasm and initiative are valued. Compensation: - Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
