We are an ’Outstanding’ Sixth Form College which offers a wide range of learning opportunities for students of all ages.
We are seeking a dedicated Swimming Coach to join our team of sports coaches to work with our swimming academy and also oversee recreational swimming for staff and students.
This is a part time, term time only role for 1.5 hours a week.
Sessions run on Tuesdays from 7.30am - 8.30 am. the successful candidate will need to be on site from 7.15 am - 8.45 am to prepare for and finish the session.
Flexibility to attend swimming competitions would be an advantage but not essential.
There may be the opportunity to combine this role with a TA role for the right candidate to offer more hours.
Duties
- Plan and coach swimming sessions to individuals or groups
- Instruct swimmers on swimming techniques and strokes
- Develop training programmes tailored to the needs and skill levels of participants
- Provide constructive feedback to swimmers to help improve their performance
- Ensure a safe swimming environment at all times
- Experience and Qualifications
Candidates need to hold an ASA swimming coaching qualification and a pool lifeguard qualification
- Previous experience in swimming coaching is desirable
- Ability to educate and motivate swimmers of various ages and skill levels
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with swimmers and other staff members
