We are seeking a qualified and experienced Swimming Instructor/Lifeguard to join our team, and help deliver exceptional service with energy and vigor, from our newly renovated facilities, while supporting overall day-to-day operations. KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Level 2 Swim Instructor qualification, required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a swimming instructor, required
  • Valid Pool Lifeguard qualification and First Aid certification, an advantage
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Flexibility is key as you will need to cover evenings and weekends
  • A strong customer-focused attitude and a passion for health and wellness

Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY

To work with the Leisure Centre Manager and team to deliver high-quality swimming lessons to guests, members, and the local community in a safe and welcoming environment, with a focus on promoting water safety, physical fitness, and enjoyment for swimmers of all ages and abilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Deliver engaging swimming lessons to children and adults, from beginners to advanced levels.
· Monitor swimmer safety and ensure adherence to pool rules and health & safety standards.
· Create lesson plans tailored to individual and group needs.
· Assess swimmers’ progress and provide regular feedback.
· Encourage participation and maintain high levels of motivation and enjoyment.
· Assist with the organisation of swim programmes, events, and camps.
· Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the pool area and changing facilities.
· Support other leisure centre activities as required.
Respond calmly and efficiently to emergencies, providing first aid, or alerting the first aider on duty.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Team Collaboration: To co-operate with the Leisure Centre Manager, Assistant Manager and other team members to ensure the highest standard of service is consistently met.
  • Quality & Standards: To ensure all departmental checklists are completed and checked before going off duty. To carry out duties in accordance with departmental standards. To wear agreed uniform and to maintain uniform according to the agreed standards. To ensure that the highest possible standard of personal hygiene, dress, appearance, body language and conduct is maintained at all times.
  • Training: To attend and complete all statutory training, and any other training sessions as per the departmental training plan or as when required by management.
  • Flexibility: To accept a flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to hotel guests and visitors. To give full cooperation to any colleague or guest requiring assistance in a prompt caring, helpful manner and to be flexible in assisting in the Leisure Centre in response to business and client needs.
  • GDRP/Compliance: To ensure all GDPR and PCI policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
