JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a reliable person to join our team and oversee the maintenance and smooth running of our hydrotherapy swimming pool.
The right person needs to be reliable, friendly and a strong communicator in order to look after the pool and plantroom.
A plant room qualification isn’t an essential as we can arrange and pay for this qualification for the right candidate.
This role is for 8 hours per week, 45 weeks of the year with a working pattern that will include some hours on a Saturday / Sunday and some hours on 2 week days which can be during school hours.
The breaks in working weeks are 2 weeks over school Easter break, 3 weeks off over school summer break and 2 weeks over school Christmas / New Year break.
Occasional overtime or callouts may be required but come with additional pay.

SKILLS

  • Ability to learn and use practical skills operating plant room equipment, backwashing swimming pool and maintaining plant room
  • Ability to learn and apply relevant health and safety training at work
  • Experience working with swimming pools, in plant rooms or in facilities maintenance is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard and safely
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with different sets of staff and problem solving

Responsibilities
  • Maintain swimming pool, plant room, poolside and changing areas
  • Inspect pool equipment and systems to ensure proper operation
  • Schedule and perform regular cleaning of filters, bleeding of valves and any other equipment that needs periodic maintenance in order to function
  • Schedule and be present for plant room servicing carried out by qualified 3rd party operator
  • Safe storage and regular stock takes of cleaning, pool and plant room chemicals
  • Ordering of chemicals, equipment and necessary tools to perform duties and ensure smooth operation of pool
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure high standards of service, water quality and experience for all swimmers
  • Training other staff to test chlorine and PH levels of water, perform back washes and interact with plant room under instruction / supervision
  • Liaising with school management to ensure communication of pool status and good working relationship between ourselves and the school
