QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Essential
· Swim England Level 2 teacher
· Experience of Swim England National Teaching Plan
· Experience and knowledge of the delivery of swimming lessons and swimming programmes.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inform, persuade, negotiate, and influence others.
· Commitment to providing excellent customer service and driving continuous service improvements.
· Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
· Ability to work responsively on your own initiative as well as in a team.
· Computer literate with excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
Desirable
· National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
· Experience of teaching water-based fitness classes.
· Experience of delivering one to one lessons.
· Experience of delivering lessons to a diverse range of people.
Pay: £16.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 4.25 per week

Responsibilities

As a swimming instructor your main duties will involve:
-Be able to work Saturday and/ or Sunday mornings 0815-1245
· Providing excellent customer service, responding to the needs of the customer, dealing with complaints appropriately and referring any complaints to the Aquatics Lead Teacher and or Assistant Operations Manager (Customer Experience) as required.
· Day to day running and supervision of swimming lessons, contributing to the class programme as required.
· Responsible for the delivery of an agreed and documented induction to all relevant customers into the swimming pool facility.
· Preparing individually tailored swimming lesson programme for one-to-one customers.
· Completing administrative duties as delegated by the Aquatics Lead Teacher and Assistant Operations Manager (Customer Service), including recording performance and attendance of pupils.
· Ensuring high standards of safety, cleanliness and presentation of the facility is maintained and that customers adhere to the facility procedures.
· Ensuring that all equipment is visually and physically checked to be safe for use, in accordance with manufacturer instructions and operating procedures and that customers are using equipment safely.
· Provide information to customers on Swim England national teaching plan and how they can benefit from using the system.
· Providing advice and information to existing and prospective customers on the services provided by the facility.
· Working within and ensuring adherence to both University’s and Sport and Physical Activity’s Health and Safety and Equality and Diversity policies.
