Summary: This position is responsible for operating & setting up jobs specified by a supervisor adhering to quality and consistently striving for continuous improvement. Responsibilities: Measure work-piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation. Observe machine operation to detect work-piece defects or machine malfunctions. Use hand and power tools as required. Inspect previous work, as well as your own, to ensure quality established standards. Remove burrs etc. for work piece. Perform basic housekeeping of machine and machine area. Meet a 95% or better production requirement. Follow ISO 2000/ISO 13485 standards; Consistent use, promotion and adherence of ISO and its procedures throughout the organization and ensure continuous improvement to the ISO system. Create and set-up jobs per specifications (new fixtures). Perform first-piece inspections. Submit first-piece inspections to QC. Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints. Perform minor maintenance on machines. Change program or offsets to obtain final dimensions. Program machine from scratch. Continually improve processes for most effective production. In process documentation. Requirements Minimum of 10 years machining experience. HS Diploma or equivalent. Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions Proficiency in safely and effectively using hand tools Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for prolonged periods, and safely work in tight or confined spaces. Knowledge of set up, machine speeds, and feeds for materials and tooling selection. Must be able to work independently but also demonstrate the ability to work productively in a team environment. Familiar with ISO requirements. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
