The Switch / Cashier is a front-line communication position in its dealings with external and internal stakeholders. The position holder operates the hospital’s telephone switch board dealing with internal and external telephone calls in a polite, helpful manner.
The position also acts as a receptionist and deals with enquiries from stakeholders.
The position is also the hospital’s cashier, making up float monies and keeping accurate cash receipt records.
The switch operator will act as a focal communications point if the hospital experiences an internal or external emergency.
