Description
The Switchboard Engineer II is responsible for Designing Low Voltage Switchboards and Panelboards. This role requires great attention to detail with a preference for self-starting mentality. All products must be designed using applicable safety standards & regulations (National Electric Code, Underwriters, Laboratories, etc).  The Engineer will also be responsible for mentoring and leading other team members as needed.  Primary Job Responsibilities:   * Design 3D sheet metal parts with flat patterns * Complete 3D Assemblies (150+ Item BOM) * Follow design life cycle states and design standards * Create wiring diagrams using PLCs, breaker accessories, relays, contractors, power supplies, etc.  * Create and understand 2D Front View, One-Line/Single-Line and Layout drawings using CAD Software * Ensure clear communication between Engineering, Manufacturing and other key stakeholders.  * Work in a team environment to analyze requirements from clients and develop design solutions * Ensure clear communication with suppliers/vendors on an as-needed basis Qualifications / Experience: * Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar * 4 - 8 years of professional experience (working for UL891 OEM or Equivalent) * Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (Autodesk Suite preferred) * Proficient with Microsoft Office Products * Excellent Oral & Written Communication Skills Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with UL891, UL67, UL508A or UL1558 * Experience reading/understanding National Electric Code * Experience sizing conductors and OCPDs * Experience with Control Circuits and Logic Who are we: Raycap Inc. creates products that protect and support the world’s most valuable assets.
