DESCRIPTION

To undertake regulatory and management reporting in respect of certain Lloyd’s entities in support of Client Finance Director and Syndicate Finance Manager as required.

• Ability to produce consistently accurate work to tight deadlines.
• Ability to progress issues on own initiative, but sufficient judgement to know when to refer to Syndicate Finance Manager or Client Finance Director.
• Ability to work in an orderly and well organised fashion.
• Willingness to learn and put in extra effort when circumstances require.
• Good communication skills both verbally and in writing.
• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
• Qualified in a professional qualification or qualified by specific and relevant insurance experience essential.
• Familiarity and experience of Lloyd’s reporting requirements e.g. working knowledge of the specific syndicate returns to be submitted to Lloyd’s.
• Sound knowledge of IT systems in use within the Asta accounting function – especially Excel, Vision, Sun Accounts – would be advantageous.

• Review of input data and preparation, filing of all Lloyd’s Regulatory returns for Lloyd’s Syndicates, including Annual returns, Quarterly returns, US and Canadian Reporting (including schedules F&P), US and Canadian SIS.
• Prepare Syndicate Management Accounts
• Assist with planning and production of Syndicate annual/interim report and accounts, management information and financial schedules and monthly and quarterly accounting information, as required.
• Contribute to the development of systems for syndicate reporting
• Assist in the migration of key tasks to syndicate personnel and to monitor the accuracy of this data.
• Liaise with syndicate staff, auditors and actuaries as necessary.
• Ad hoc finance projects.
