DESCRIPTION

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in the Lloyd’s of London insurance market? We’re looking for a driven and detail-focused individual to join our Project Management team on a 6-month fixed-term contract to lead the onboarding of new insurance syndicates at Lloyd’s.
In this client-facing role, you’ll coordinate complex, multi-functional projects to onboard customers into Polo Works, ensuring full compliance with Lloyd’s and regulatory requirements. Working closely with senior leadership, internal experts, and client representatives, you’ll manage the delivery process end-to-end — from initiation to implementation.
This is a high-visibility role requiring confident stakeholder management, excellent organisation skills, and hands-on project delivery experience. While IT delivery is managed separately, your role will be instrumental in aligning business functions and ensuring all aspects of syndicate onboarding run smoothly.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

Proven Project Management track record with experience of the full project lifecycle and commercial environments.
Experience in managing client facing projects.
Highly effective stakeholder management both internally at all levels and with third parties.
Able to cope with varying workload pressures and to prioritise effectively.
Experience of working in the Lloyd’s of London insurance market is essential.
A professional and flexible approach.
Champions change and proactively seeks continuous improvement.
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
Experience working within an outsourcing environment is desirable.
Relevant project management qualifications (e.g. Prince2, MSP, APM) required.

Responsibilities

Initiate projects, define deliverables and establish plans and governance models.
Deliver projects across multiple workstreams (displaying industry recognised techniques and methodologies) to agreed time, cost, quality, TCF and compliance objectives.
Execute and manage the project plan on a day-to-day basis, monitor progress and take all necessary actions and escalations where appropriate.
Establish, lead, and manage cross functional and multi-disciplined teams (e.g. Business Operations, IT, Risk, Audit, etc).
Resource projects appropriately and early escalation of potential slippage.
Routinely engage with and communicate with internal and external senior stakeholders.
Prepare reports for weekly steering group meetings with clients.
Support the senior management decision making process.
Work in accordance with Polo’s policies, client and regulatory requirements and operational frameworks.
Engage in Polo leadership forums to share progress, lessons learned and best practices.
