The position we are seeking to fill is an exciting opportunity for a Carbon Chemist to join our group.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • PhD in Organic Chemistry.
  • Industrial experience is essential.
  • Experience of chromatographic techniques, both analytical and preparative.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team.
  • Conscientious and meticulous in laboratory work.
  • Good time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to problem solve.
  • Willing to get involved with new ideas and initiatives.
  • Eligible to live and work in the UK.

The Cardiff site is Pharmaron’s global centre of excellence for the custom chemical synthesis of drug and complex chemical substances radiolabelled with tritium or carbon-14, offering radiolabelled custom synthesis service to clients in the pharmaceutical, agrochemical and industrial sectors. Responsibilities
  • The synthesis and purification of isotopically labelled compounds within agreed timeframes.
  • Perform in-process analytical testing.
  • Develop and redesign synthetic routes.
  • Liaise and build strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to future cost estimate generation.
  • Where appropriate, project management and support/mentor colleagues.
