PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in a manufacturing environment
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to: talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, grasp, pick, lift, stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions. The employee is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as operate production machines where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach
This position is exposed to occupational hazards, including high noise levels, physical obstacles, exposure to chemicals, etc.
Must wear appropriate safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing, and footwear in appropriate areas and follow safety practices
The employee must frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10:00AM-7:00PM. Must be willing to work a dynamic schedule to support coverage for supervisors and syrup technicians
Adhere to environmental, GMP, food safety, and HACCP standards while maintaining a safe work environment
Conduct sensory tastings, participate in training, and collect samples to ensure product quality
Operate and maintain production equipment, assist with material transfers, and ensure proper weighing
Follow sanitation practices, clean equipment, and address unsafe conditions in the production area
Record operational and production data as per specified requirements
Follow all relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
Respond effectively to emergencies and implement contingency plans as necessary
Serve as backup support for supervisors and syrup technicians during absences, ensuring smooth and continuous syrup room operations
Work with management to coordinate/allocate work assignments
Act as a trainer for new syrup room and rail station employees, utilizing SOPs and work instructions
Develop, update, and review SOPs and work instructions for syrup room and rail station, ensuring they align with best practices
Work with Training & Development to create training and process improvement videos; ensure required training is met within the team
Monitor and track WMS open points, coordinating with maintenance to execute and plan tasks
Regularly review and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure optimal production performance
Periodically backfill production operators as part of their standardized roles and responsibilities
Verify / confirm maintenance tasks (Crisis, Predictive and Preventive) are completed by the appropriate people
Adhere to Time & Data Management to promote and support continuous improvement activities in the team
Lead actions to improve job / station performance by coordinating activities with team members to constructively utilize down time to continuously improve
Communicate as required to perform job functions and recognize team accomplishments, including but not limited to zone boards, end of shift sheets, and issues matrix
Create and review compliance batch sheets with QA for approval
Schedule kitting, coordinate temp requirements with warehouse team
Clean and handle kitting equipment
Record compliance reports and oversee kitting to prevent mix-ups
Train Syrup Techs/Kitters; monitor and report on specified KPIs
