Responsibilities
The System VP, Behavioral Health and Collaborative Service Line leader will provide physician leadership for their respective Service Line. As the CommonSpirit Health system expert in their specialty, this position offers the clinical strategic framework for the Service Line. The System VP, Service Line Physician leads across the multidisciplinary care continuum for their specialty. In collaboration with their dyad partner, the system VP, and the service line administrator. They spearhead the adoption of clinical quality standards and performance improvement initiatives to reduce patient harm, optimize the cost and use of specialty-specific supplies and devices, enhance measurable outcomes, and eliminate unnecessary variation in price and quality while improving care coordination. Together, the dyads identify strategic opportunities for growth, caregiver engagement, and patient experience.
In addition to leading the Behavioral Health National Service Line, this role will also serve as the Collaborative Service Line Leader responsible for providing strategic direction and guidance to all System Collaborative Service Line Physician Leaders, ensuring they align with clinical strategy and organizational objectives. The System VP, Service Line Physician is a key member of the CommonSpirit Health clinical leadership team, directly interacting with executive leaders and contributing to the ministry becoming a system of choice through an integrated operating organization with a healthy culture built on relationships, trust, and teamwork.
This role will significantly contribute to the development and implementation of system and local strategy, transformation to a clinical enterprise, achievement of successful physician alignment strategies, achievement of patient experience and employee engagement goals, and achievement of budgets. This position works collaboratively with system, region, and market inter disciplinary teams and leads the development of behavioral health processes and clinical standards across CommonSpirit. This position will be in active clinical practice in a CommonSpirit Health community.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • Medical degree required; board certification in a related Behavioral Health field (needed to maintain certification for continued employment).
  • Master’s in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the discipline with a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible physician leadership experience in clinical behavioral health care and/or in an integrated health system
