Job Summary Iron Mountain is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Smart Hands Information Technology Support Professional to join our Data Center team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing critical on-site technical assistance, ranging from hardware installation and cable patching to executing precise troubleshooting instructions from remote engineering teams. You will work alongside a collaborative and process-driven team dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of data center uptime, service assurance, and environmental compliance. What You’ll Do In this role, you will: Execute Hardware and Infrastructure Lifecycle Tasks: Rack, stack, cable, and perform hardware installations or upgrades on servers, storage devices, and networking equipment while managing asset tagging and inventory reporting. Collaborate for Technical Problem Resolution: Partner closely with remote engineers and customers to diagnose hardware or network issues, perform power-cycling, swap components, and execute basic commands under supervision. Ensure Compliance and Safety: Strictly adhere to all data center access protocols, safety regulations, and security procedures while maintaining accurate records of work performed to support external compliance audits. What You’ll Bring The ideal candidate will have: 1+ years of experience in Information Technology hardware operations or secure data center environments. Strong knowledge of server, storage, and network hardware, including hands-on familiarity with copper and fiber cabling standards. Proven ability in following complex technical instructions, executing basic networking commands, and collaborating seamlessly with remote, cross-functional teams. A Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
