What you will be doing As a Senior System Administrator, you will be the backbone of our operational technology, ensuring a secure, reliable, and highly available IT environment across our practices and corporate infrastructure. Your key responsibilities will include: Infrastructure Management: Setup, maintain, and secure communication infrastructure, including IP Telephony, VPNs (e.g., Meraki VPN), and Mobile Device Management (MDM). Practice IT: Configure, deploy, and maintain medical equipment and all necessary IT devices within our medical practices. Security & Compliance: Manage critical data transfer and communication channels, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory bodies like gematik and HÄVG. Identity & Access: Administer and secure our cloud identity and access management systems, including Google Workspace, Central Identity Provider (IdP), and authentication platforms like Okta and JumpCloud. High Availability & Monitoring: Implement strategies to ensure and maintain high system availability, proactively monitoring system health and performance. Automation: Drive efficiency by automating provisioning, configuration management, and setup processes as much as possible to ensure scalability and consistency. Security Operations: Manage endpoint security solutions, such as Crowdstrike, and maintain operating systems like Windows Server, Debian Linux, and Oracle Linux. Our Software & Tool-Stack Networking/VPN: Meraki VPN, TailScale; Identity & Access: JumpCloud, Google Workspace, Okta; Security: Crowdstrike, eye.Security; Operating Systems: Windows Server, Debian Linux, Oracle Linux; Medical/Compliance: TI vHSK, KV Connect, KIM; Cloud Platform: Google Cloud, Hetzner What success looks like After 3 months, you'll have immersed yourself in our company culture, understood our current infrastructure, and established strong relationships with key stakeholders. You'll begin leading the maintenance and operation of critical communication systems. After 6 months, you'll have a solid grasp of the healthcare regulatory sector and our specific compliance requirements. You'll have successfully led the deployment or upgrade of a key practice IT system, showcasing your ability to drive efficiency and security. After 12 months, you'll be fully adapted to our dynamic environment and recognized as a critical strategic partner. You'll have made significant strides in optimizing our automated provisioning and configuration processes, with a track record of successful projects that ensure our platforms are scalable and highly secure. Core skills & qualifications to help you succeed in this role are At least 3-5 years of professional experience in Systems Administration or Infrastructure engineering. Proven proficiency in managing complex, multi-site network infrastructure, including VPN and firewall technologies (e.g., Meraki, WireGuard, TailScale). Expertise in administering modern Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems (e.g., Okta, JumpCloud) and cloud administration (Google Workspace, Google Cloud). Strong command-line skills in a Linux environment (Debian/Oracle) and experience with Windows Server administration. Experience with regulatory compliance and security standards in a highly regulated industry; familiarity with gematik or HÄVG communication protocols is a strong plus. Demonstrated ability to automate system tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and configuration management tools. Strong sense of ownership and initiative to fix problems, ensuring high availability and reliability of critical services. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively across clinical and technical teams.
