Position: System Administrator Location: Bonn, Germany Field: Defence Type: Full-time/on-site Role Overview The System Administrator supports secure IT operations within a highly classified, security-critical environment. The role focuses on the operation, monitoring, and administration of IT and communication systems that require an elevated level of information security. The position is part of a 24/7 shift-based operations model and contributes to the reliable delivery of mission-critical IT services. Key Responsibilities IT Operations & Infrastructure Management Installation, configuration, commissioning, administration, and monitoring of IT and communication service infrastructures in compliance with current security requirements Participation in service-specific projects and continuous operational improvements Transfer of service-specific technical knowledge within the assigned area of responsibility Monitoring, Availability & Capacity Management Monitoring availability, performance, and threshold values of IT services and resources to ensure compliance with defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) Continuous monitoring of client and server environments Incident & Service Management Processing of incidents, service requests, and change requests in accordance with defined service levels Handling user inquiries via telephone related to hardware, operating systems, applications, and networks (systems and client environments) Analysis and resolution of fault reports, including diagnosis of affected components and initiation of corrective measures Shift Operations Active participation in a 24/7 shift operation to ensure uninterrupted service availability in a classified IT environment Qualifications & Experience Education Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration or IT Systems Electronics Technician, or comparable qualification Professional Experience At least 2 years of experience in monitoring client and server environments At least 2 years of experience in 1st and/or 2nd level IT support Minimum 1 year of experience working in a shift-based operational environment Language Skills German language proficiency at C1 level according to CEFR Soft Skills & Personal Competencies Strong teamwork and collaboration skills Professional conduct and appropriate interpersonal behavior Clear and confident communication skills Independent working style combined with strong problem-solving abilities Additional Requirements Valid advanced security clearance (Level SÜ3 or equivalent) is mandatory No remote work option; full on-site presence required Willingness to work exclusively in a shift-based operational model What we offer: • Join a cosmopolitan and internationally mixed team: We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and cultures to contribute their unique perspectives and talents to our team. • Polish your German language skills: If you are looking to improve your German language skills, we offer a supportive environment where you can practice and develop your language abilities: whether you are a beginner or an advanced speaker. • Benefit from a fixed contact person from the company: We understand the importance of having a reliable point of contact within the company.
