Position: System Administrator Location: Bonn, Germany Field: Defence Type: Full-time/on-site Focus: Classified IT Operations & Monitoring (24/7) Role Overview The System Administrator (P6) operates within a classified IT operations environment, providing operational services and continuous monitoring for security-critical IT and communication services. The role supports services classified above VS-NfD and is performed within a 24/7 shift-based operation, ensuring stability, availability, and compliance with defined service levels. Project / Operational Environment Operation and monitoring of classified IT and communication services with elevated security requirements. Assignment within a centralized IT Operations and Control environment. Responsibility for stable service delivery in a 24/7 operational model. Close collaboration with service-specific teams and stakeholders in a security-sensitive context. Key Responsibilities IT Operations Management Installation, configuration, commissioning, administration, and monitoring of IT and communication service infrastructures in accordance with current security requirements. Partial responsibility for IT Operations Management processes within the assigned service domain. Transfer of service-specific technical knowledge within the operational team. Participation in service-related projects. Monitoring, Capacity & Availability Management Continuous monitoring of availability, performance, and threshold values of IT services and resources to ensure SLA compliance. Proactive identification of performance issues and initiation of corrective measures. Incident, Request & Change Management Processing of Incident, Service Request, and Change Request tickets in compliance with defined service levels and operational procedures. Analysis and resolution of incidents, including diagnosis of affected components and systems. User Support (1st & 2nd Level) Telephone-based handling of user inquiries related to hardware, operating systems, applications, and network issues. Support for system and client environments. Structured troubleshooting and escalation where required. Required Qualifications Education & Professional Background Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration or IT Systems Electronics Technician (or equivalent). Relevant professional experience in IT operations environments. Professional Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in: Monitoring of client and server systems 1st and/or 2nd Level IT support At least 1 year of experience working in shift-based operations (24/7). Language Skills (CEFR) German: C1 Soft Skills Strong team orientation and cooperative working style. Professional conduct and appropriate interpersonal behavior. Clear and structured communication skills. Independent working approach combined with strong problem-solving competence. Special Requirements Existing security clearance (SÜ3). On-site work required (no remote work). High reliability and discretion due to the classified nature of the operational environment.
