EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical School Diploma, must be a minimum of a 2-year program
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience
  • Practical experience implementing and administering Microsoft Azure or Google Workspace.
  • Having Microsoft Azure Administrator or Google Workspace Administrator certifications is desirable
  • A strong understanding of backup and recovery processes and applications.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, etc
  • Experience administering Windows and Linux servers is desirable
  • Experience with the design and support of large scale enterprise networks is desirable
  • Understanding of change and incident management
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
    Rate of Pay
    $42.14 - $53.81 per hour
    Nature of Work
    Based on the nature of the role, and through conversation with their supervisor, the successful candidate may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Hybrid work schedules provide eligible staff with the opportunity to work a combination of both onsite and offsite. Staff participating in a hybrid work schedule must be available to work in-person on short notice to meet operation needs.

Responsibilities
  • Data Centre Operations: Manage and maintain physical and virtual servers within enterprise data centre environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
  • Linux Systems Administration: Administer, secure, and troubleshoot enterprise Linux environments, with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Oracle Linux. Responsibilities include patching, system monitoring, performance tuning, and automation using standard tools and scripts.
  • Caching Infrastructure: Support, configure, and optimize caching servers such as Squid and Microsoft Connected Cache to enhance network efficiency and content delivery performance.
  • Virtualization: Administer and support virtualization platforms such as VMware, Oracle VM, Proxmox, and Nutanix, including provisioning, resource optimization, and live migrations.
  • SAN Storage: Configure, monitor, and maintain Storage Area Network (SAN) systems, including zoning, LUN provisioning, performance tuning, and ensuring high availability for critical workloads.
  • Backup Recovery: Implement, monitor, and test backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  • Automation and Configuration Management: Develop and maintain infrastructure automation and configuration management using tools such as Ansible and SaltStack, enabling consistent system deployment, streamlined updates, and reduced manual intervention.
