Overview:

Maintain CAREWare settings, request user accounts, services contracts, field values, and improve -general use of the system. Assist users through troubleshooting, creation of custom reports, and ad hoc technical assistance and training as needed. Provide data entry and State/Federal reporting requirements. Assist with ensuring data quality through continuous review of data in CAREWare, a web-based software program used to record Ryan White services and a requirement for the sustainability of the Ryan White Program and funding. Specific tasks include but are not limited to: a) Conducting quarterly audits of HIV services and client data through custom CAREWare reports b) Provide Ryan White data cleaning/data management; analyze services data and produce user-friendly reports for program staff; c) Assist with the automation of routine tasks to enhance functioning of current program databases; provide written documentation of programming and operating procedures.
Qualifications:
4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree; Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or Data Management or related field with fluency in the use of database software systems- Preferred
Years of Experience-
3 years’ experience with data systems required.
Experience with physician office systems in general and experience with systems currently in use strongly preferred.
Requires an understanding of the patient care process in an ambulatory setting including scheduling, registration and the delivery of clinical care.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participates in departmental decision making and performance improvement initiatives to improve care, processes and outcomes.
  • Uses critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Functions as liaison between system users and CareWare System Administrator to identify opportunities and problems related to system functionality.
  • Implements solutions to problems and helps facilitate changes to the CareWare System in a timely and expeditious manner.
  • Creates reports for use by system clients, analyzes data and makes recommendations to improve processes.
  • Maintains ongoing expertise with the systems (CareWare & EPIC) to improve operations and enhance patient care.
  • Organizes and performs work effectively and efficiently.
  • Demonstrates accountability for ongoing learning & completion of required annual education/competencies.
  • Maintains and adjusts schedule to enhance team performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet the needs/goals of the department.
  • Determines security roles and grants access within assigned applications. Conducts quarterly security audits to confirm that users have been decommissioned as needed.
  • Provides point of contact knowledge transfer to end users to minimize repeat calls and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Understands how assigned applications integrate with other hospital systems.
  • Knowledge of future system developments to assure timely updates and upgrades
  • Understands and utilizes Information Services change management practices.
  • Works in accordance with established regulatory compliance and HIPPA requirements.
  • Integrates LEAN methodologies into daily operations, improvement opportunities, and education programs for staff.
