Description System Administrator I is an entry-level role responsible for supporting the IT infrastructure of the organization. This position involves managing and maintaining the organization's hardware, software, network, and systems to ensure reliable performance, security, and availability. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: System Monitoring and Maintenance Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime and reliability Perform routine system updates, backups, and preventive maintenance User Support Provide first-line technical support to users, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues Assist in onboarding new employees by setting up workstations, accounts, and system access Assist in separation/termination of employee accounts Network and Security Support basic network configurations, including routers, switches, and firewalls Monitor for security vulnerabilities and implement updates to maintain system integrity System Deployment Assist in the installation and configuration of servers, applications, and operating systems Maintain and document system inventories and configurations Collaboration and Documentation Collaborate with senior team members on IT projects and initiatives Maintain accurate records of system changes, incidents, and resolutions Compliance and Best Practices Adhere to IT policies and procedures, including data protection and disaster recovery plans Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems Contribute to departmental efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed, and other tasks as assigned Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent, or a minimum of four (4) years of direct work experience (required) Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (preferred) VMware Certified Professional (preferred) Strong working knowledge of computer systems, hardware, and software Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to explain technical information in understandable language to nontechnical staff members Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
