Description
The Defense group at Leidos has a career opening for a Journeyman System Administrator on a DISA contract. This role is primarily on the customer site at Ft Meade, MD. Administrator will provide support for assigned systems supporting Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 4+ years of overall related experience with a Windows/Linux server environment. Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Windows, Linux, and Solaris Server experience with an expertise in at least one.
  • Extensive experience working with virtual environments using VMware and VDI practices.
  • Currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI is required for this position.
  • Currently possess DoD 8570 certification at least IAT level II, e.g. Security+ CE.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Integration of cyber security tools and systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems highly desired.
  • Candidates with a thorough knowledge of networking principles to included TCP/IP a plus.
  • Experience with a ticketing system such as ServiceNow
  • ITIL v3 Foundation certified
Responsibilities
  • Provide mid-level skillset for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment.
  • Provide support for ticket escalation on major outages.
  • Be able to work in a rapid paced environment at times.
  • Provide strategic leadership and input with development partners to ensure customers understand emerging needs and technological advancements.
  • Lead the onboarding and standup of new enclaves and environments as needed.
  • Interacts with Tier III support and evaluates vendor products.
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Creates, maintains, and implements detailed documentation and maintains standard operating procedures.
