Description Summary & Objective IT Systems Administrator is focused on operational support of user systems, endpoint management, and day-to-day platform administration across our multi-site healthcare organization. This role primarily supports desktops, user platforms, and administrative systems while assisting senior infrastructure and network engineers as needed. Essential Functions Provide Tier 2 technical support for escalated help desk issues Administer user accounts, permissions, and group policies in Active Directory and Microsoft 365 Deploy, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and endpoint devices Support email, Office 365, and collaboration tools Assist with endpoint security tools such as CrowdStrike and email filtering platforms Troubleshoot system, application, and device issues across multiple locations Document procedures, configurations, and system changes to support compliance and continuity Assist infrastructure teams with routine maintenance tasks when required Other Duties Maintains the policy of confidentiality. Pursue special assignments as instructed by the Director of IT. Assist in any way possible during emergencies. Maintain your required certifications and mandatory skill updates. Comply with all policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations. Perform other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibility No direct report. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, walk, climb stair or ladders, stand on feet for extended periods of time, etc. Works in office environment with moderate to loud noise level. Subject to frequent interruptions. Work schedule may include working beyond typical schedule, including weekends and holidays. Hand dexterity required for data entry on keyboard, requiring finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requirements Knowledge & Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field plus a minimum of 3–5 years of system administration experience Proven experience as a System Administrator Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA compliance Experience with virtualized environments and cloud computing technologies Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with medical, clinical, and administrative staff Preferred Qualifications Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions Knowledge of network infrastructure, routing, switching, and basic firewall concepts Certifications such as: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or similar Technical Expertise Active Directory, Windows Workstation Administration Microsoft 365, Microsoft Office 365 Virtualization: VMware Workstation Endpoint Security tools (CrowdStrike or similar) Email Security Platforms (Mimecast or similar) Deployment & Support: Desktop/server deployment, remote support tools Basic PowerShell scripting Additional Technical Skills (Recommended) Backup technologies (e.g., Veeam) Network device management (switches, routers, firewalls)
