Position: System Administrator, (5 years of experience required)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated System Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing our IT systems and infrastructure. This role requires a strong technical foundation, proactive problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused mindset.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Provide day-to-day systems administration support to cybersecurity teams.
  • Apply IAVAs and other security patches/updates in accordance with policy.
  • Build, configure, and maintain laptops for mission operations.
  • Support and administer virtual machines and CentOS-based systems.
  • Provide limited Windows system administration support as needed.
  • Deliver administrative support for Splunk clusters.
  • Work alongside developers and mission operators to define system requirements and implement technical solutions.
  • Support hardware builds and installations, including server and desktop support.
  • Assist in storage setup (NAS, remote storage, etc.) and inventory tracking.
  • Apply security best practices to maintain system integrity and compliance.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure.
  • Experience with:
  • Splunk, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, Airflow
  • GitLab, Jira, and version control tools.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining storage solutions (NAS, SAN).
  • Familiarity with inventory management and asset tracking tools.
  • Understanding of basic network engineering principles (though this is not a network engineering role).
  • Hands-on experience with hardware and infrastructure support.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must hold an active clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph
  • 5 years of professional experience and a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field or 3 years of professional experience and a Masters degree in computer science, engineering, or related field

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position involves sedentary work with physical requirements expected for at least 50% of the time. Essential functions include prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and talking.
