Internal Job Title: System Administrator
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Job Location: Ottawa, ON
Work Model: Hybrid
POSITION SUMMARY
As a System Administrator in our Product Development group, you will be responsible for configuring, virtualizing, managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure and databases of CBN product development architectures and solutions. In this position you will apply your knowledge of Azure Cloud and on-premises infrastructure with hands on configuration, optimization and written automation. The work will enable efficiency of environment creation and tear down for development teams and customer deployment methodology.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (KSAS) AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (or a related field) or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience.
- Certifications: CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or similar certifications are assets.
- Knowledge: System administration principles, database management principles, network protocols, security best practices.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Competencies: Organizational skills, technical independence, proactive approach to identifying and solving issues.
- Experience: 5-7 years of experience in system administration with database exposure. Must have proven script writing experience.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
- Language: Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain (in a timely manner) and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) clearance
