SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR - PUBLIC CLOUD PLATFORMS (GOOGLE AND AZURE):

On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a System Administrator - Public Cloud Platforms (Google and Azure) for a 5 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR - PUBLIC CLOUD PLATFORMS (GOOGLE AND AZURE) - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The successful candidate will manage the reliability of critical infrastructure platforms on Google and Azure public cloud platforms. This role involves improving and maintaining site availability, scalability, and system performance for ongoing operational excellence.

SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR - PUBLIC CLOUD PLATFORMS (GOOGLE AND AZURE) - MANDATORY SKILLS:

• 8+ years of System Administration experience and/or Enterprise Operations skills
• 3+ years of OS Experience (RHEL 7.X and Windows 2K12 and above)
• 2+ years of experience developing in any of the following languages (Java, Javascript, Python, Ruby, Go, C#)
• 2+ years of experience supporting GCP and/or Azure; and experience with Kubernetes (GKE & AKS)
• 2+ years of experience with Agile & Lean methodologies for requirements/design methodology

SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR - PUBLIC CLOUD PLATFORMS (GOOGLE AND AZURE) – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

• Knowledge of software design patterns, infrastructure architecture, DevOps, or security considerations
• Understanding of software release process (environments, binary repositories, CI/CD)
• Experience supporting containers, container orchestration platforms
• Knowledge of network engineering – DNS, TCP/IP, Load balancing, DMZ, routing protocols, etc.
• Experience with Terraform

• Manage reliability of critical infrastructure platforms on our Public Cloud Platforms (Google and Azure)
• Improve and maintain site availability, scalability, service, and system performance
• Investigate system errors and problems, perform bottleneck analysis of the system at scale
• Provide solutions for performance management, disaster recovery, monitoring, and access management
• Participate in solution design sessions and planning and retrospective sessions
• Build and operate highly available and scalable software and infrastructure
• Support application teams on the use of the platform, providing guidance on design patterns, best practices, and security considerations
• Provide peer review and quality control on a daily basis
• Be part of on-call rotation (occurs every 7 weeks; on call for 1 week)
