REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in a System Administrator or similar infrastructure support role.
• Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy management.
• Hands-on experience with RDS/VDI environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Intune/SCCM.
• Basic knowledge of firewall technologies (e.g., FortiGate) to support the security/networking team in a backup capacity.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Microsoft Azure or M365 certifications.
• Exposure to Ubiquiti/Unifi network devices.
• Experience scripting with PowerShell for automation.
• Background in compliance or IT governance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, HIPAA).
• Familiarity with cloud cost optimization strategies.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

eNGINE is seeking a skilled System Administrator with Azure experience to join our team in Pittsburgh. This hybrid role (2 days/week on-site) is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys collaboration across IT disciplines, and has a passion for optimizing and securing infrastructure systems.
As a System Administrator, you’ll play a key role in managing both on-premises and cloud-based systems, with a particular focus on Microsoft Azure, Windows Server environments, and endpoint management platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with networking, security, and application teams to ensure our infrastructure remains secure, scalable, and high-performing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administer Windows Server platforms, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and RDS/VDI environments.
• Manage Azure resources: virtual machines, resource groups, backup policies, and update automation.
• Monitor system activity and investigate anomalies using Microsoft Sentinel and Log Analytics.
• Support identity and access management using Azure AD, SSO, and Conditional Access policies.
• Maintain endpoints with Intune and SCCM: provisioning, patching, and compliance reporting.
• Oversee system patching, backups, and disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Provide administrative support for Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Defender).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in security, networking, and applications.
• Document procedures and system configurations; mentor junior staff as needed.
