THE ROLE

We are looking to hire a System and Cloud Administrator who will be responsible for for designing, monitoring, and supporting data center, server, and back-end solutions, including ensuring secure access and seamless integration for business systems.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Support the design and architecture of infrastructure to align with organizational strategies, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency in meeting business objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive strategies for client, server, and cloud implementations to optimize performance, enhance flexibility, and meet evolving business needs.
  • Define and implement strategies for integrating disparate operating environments to ensure seamless interoperability, reduce complexity, and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Lead projects focused on the design and review of new server systems, applications, and hardware to ensure alignment with business requirements and technological advancements.
  • Conduct capacity planning as needed to proactively address future growth and resource demands.
  • Function as the primary escalation point for server and cloud-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Monitor and analyse system performance, delivering detailed performance statistics and reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate and streamline administrative tasks and processes.
  • Manage enterprise directory services and the supporting server and cloud infrastructure to ensure robust, secure, and efficient operations.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with network engineering, business application, and database administration function to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate servers to meet business demands.
  • Regularly review help desk databases to identify and address server and resource-related issues, ensuring swift prioritization and resolution of tickets.
  • Perform file system configuration and management to optimize storage utilization and maintain data integrity.

  • Define, implement, and oversee server backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical business data.
  • Provide Web administration support by overseeing and maintaining Web server functions, such as assuring logging and metrics data are stable.
  • Plan and execute server upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches to keep systems updated and secure.
  • Recommend and execute modifications to server/cloud environment to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive training materials and server documentation to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
  • Ensure monthly on/off boarding process is performed.Ensure quarterly access reviews are performed.
  • Conduct research on server hardware, software, and protocols in support of procurement and development efforts.Lead, coordinate and participate in key process improvements as they relate to the client/server/cloud environment.
  • Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure server/cloud security.Assist in designing and implementing data center/server room security features, including HVAC control, environmental alarms, access restrictions.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, offering guidance and support to foster their professional development and ensure high-quality contributions to team objectives.
