Description
Innoviz Technologies is developing state-of-the-art LiDAR sensors and advanced perception software for the automotive industry. We are looking for a System Engineer to join our fast-paced, innovative team developing LiDAR systems for autonomous vehicles. We are looking for a talented system engineer who combines strong hands-on technical skills with the ability to lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across the organization to deliver complex calibration and test equipment. Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and implementation of automated calibration and final test stations for multidisciplinary systems (opto-mechanics, HW, SW). Manage and coordinate technicians, coders, and engineers from multiple teams in a matrix environment — setting priorities, aligning deliverables, and driving execution. Architect scalable calibration processes and algorithms, with a focus on optimizing cycle time and production efficiency. Mentor and guide team members on technical problem-solving, code quality, and system-engineering best practices. Manage development of high-quality Python code for system automation, data analysis, and algorithms. Develop and validate proof-of-concept algorithms in Python, testing them at scale across large datasets before driving their implementation into the production environment. Drive the hands-on bring-up and debugging of complex, multi-disciplinary hardware setups. Plan and execute system integration experiments, results analysis and validation to guide further development. Resolve conflicts and build strong working relationships across teams to keep multi-disciplinary programs on track. Requirements B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or a similar field. 3-4 years of experience in a hands-on system engineering role from a multidisciplinary company, with a proven track record on large-scale, technically oriented projects. Experience leading or coordinating multi-disciplinary teams - including technicians, software developers, and engineers. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align people across teams. Proficiency in Python for data analysis, tool control and automation. Hands-on experience with testing tools and measurement of physical systems. Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design. High-level problem-solving skills and ability to detect and debug issues at the system level. Ability to work efficiently in a multidisciplinary environment with tight, fast-paced development schedules. Experience with optical systems or sensors - an advantage.
Responsibilities
The System Engineer will lead the design and implementation of automated calibration and test stations for multidisciplinary LiDAR systems. They will manage cross-functional teams and develop Python-based automation and algorithms to optimize production efficiency.
