About The Team The Product Development Team at Gotion Illinois New Energy Inc. focuses on the design and development of advanced battery products for next-generation energy storage system (ESS) and electric vehicle (EV) applications. We lead the full product development cycle, integrating mechanical, electrical, thermal, and control system to create high-performance battery solutions, along with comprehensive system integration, validation, and certification activities. Role Summary Join the Product Development Team as a System Engineer focused on delivering high-voltage battery systems for electric vehicles. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-growing team in the battery industry and contribute to the next generation of EV technology within a Tier 1 supplier environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Participating in RFQ/RFI processes by preparing technical input and documentation. Developing a compliance matrix to decompose system level requirements to subteams for evaluation Developing ADV plan to verify customer requirements Analyze customer drivecycles, flowing electrical requirements to electrical/electronics teams Liason between our life simulation team to ensure customer requirements are met Collaborating with cross-functional teams (mechanical, thermal, software, testing) to ensure complete system integration. Supporting DFMEA, DVP&R planning, and functional safety efforts aligned with ISO 26262. Collaborating with global teams, including limited travel to suppliers or OEM sites. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field 3–5 years of relevant experience in the battery or EV industry, preferably in a Design and development, systems or validation role Exposure to high-voltage battery systems (400–1000V) including pack or module-level design Basic understanding of BMS, CAN communication, and automotive diagnostic protocols. Working knowledge of automotive product development cycles Exposure to safety standards such as ISO 26262, UN R100, IATF 16949 is a plus Proactive and collaborative mindset with strong communication skills in English Willingness to travel up to 15%, including visits to suppliers and OEMs, both domestic and international The US base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000.00 - $128,000.00 + 15% bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
