Du als Teil von tonies: You as part of tonies: As System Engineer Electronics (all genders) in the toniesOS team, you are the expert for all electronics hardware-related topics. The cross-functional toniesOS team is responsible for providing a reliable and flexible platform for all tonies devices and includes firmware as well as hardware. While intentionally being simple to use for children, the technology within our devices is complex incl. RF, power management, position sensing. Ready to help us create the future of audio play? Deine Aufgaben umfassen: Your tasks and responsibilities will include: Design Review & Evaluation: You review, evaluate, and provide critical technical feedback on hardware designs, ensuring performance and quality standards. Component Qualification & Approval: You support the component approval process by ensuring potential parts align with our technical requirements. ODM Coordination & On-site Support: You act as a sparring partner through consulting in a cross-functional setup with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs). This includes global, on-site travel to troubleshoot integration challenges and design approvals. Failure Analysis & Root Cause Determination: You conduct in-depth root-cause analysis (RCA) on customer returns and field failures. These insights will be used to implement preventative design measures and drive continuous improvement in our system architecture and overall hardware quality. Early Product Design Validation and Requirements Specification: You accompany the transition from product prototyping into development by understanding and specifying electronics requirements with a focus on feasibility and industrialisation. Academic Background: A degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline. ODM Management Expertise: Demonstrated success in collaborating with and managing Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), including overseeing development cycles and technical partnerships. Technical Proficiency: High proficiency in industry-standard ECAD tools for circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout. Industrialisation Acumen: Solid hands-on experience in bringing electronic products from initial prototyping through to mass production, with a focus on DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and quality optimisation. Local collaboration: Willingness to work multiple days per week from our Düsseldorf office to foster cross-functional collaboration Global Mobility: Flexibility to travel internationally to support on-site integration, testing, and production activities as needed.
